One of the most unique tracts to become available in north Alabama in a long time. This diverse tract is a portion of Hog Island which is in the middle of Weiss Lake and is accessed only by boat. Once you get on the island, you have a sense of peacefulness that is hard to describe. There is very little development on the island and it is loaded with wildlife. The deer population is excellent and there is a 4+/- AC duck impoundment that can be incredibly loaded with ducks when conditions are right. A small cozy cabin sets on a high point of the island, up out of the floodplain. The cabin is approximately 700sf with a bathroom bunk room and kitchen area, it has power and well water. The panoramic views are long range as you can see over a vast portion of the lake. With over 3500' of shoreline, this property has so many areas of incredible views and shoreline to explore. There are interior roads that take you to 4 separate food plots and to the duck hole. The timber is mature with stands of both pines and big hardwoods. The fishing and boating on Weiss Lake are very popular and ideal for family fun. Weiss Lake is over 30,000 +/- AC of public lake, and with all its coves and tributaries running into the lake, makes for an excellent fishery, dubbed "The Crappie Capitol of the World". It is common to see numerous species of waterfowl, and deer, and we even saw 2 bald eagles while shooting photography. The access is best to take a boat in from the Hwy 9 boat launch between Centre and Cedar Bluff or just a short boat ride from Little River Marina to the north of the island. This retreat will be someones getaway, host friends and family, a place of solitude and relaxation. Showings are strictly by appointment only. Please reach out for more details and request your private tour of the island.
