Seminole County - OLD HIGHWAY 99, Konawa, OK
Sandy Creek Sanctuary is an 80-acre getaway located just four miles northeast of Konawa, OK with access along its Highway 99 frontage on its northwest corner. In addition, it is just 2 miles north of the 1350-acre Konawa Lake, locally known for its exceptional bass fishing. In addition, it is an hour and fifteen-minute drive from OKC, an hour forty-five minutes from Tulsa and three hours from Dallas.
The property has an elegant stone and steel entry with a paved driveway that curves through the trees to the secluded homesite. There you find a 2 story, 3800 square foot home with 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths. This home was built in 2012 and is attractive, clean, and well maintained, featuring high ceilings, fireplace, and an open floorplan. The kitchen integrates nicely with the living room and dining room plus looks out onto the outdoor living space adjacent to the pool. This arrangement makes it easy to entertain guests on special occasions or enjoy in private with the family on an everyday basis. The gunite pool is only one year old and is equipped with a saltwater chlorination system. The grotto, waterfall and seating area in the pool make it a family favorite throughout the summer. In addition, a covered porch is the perfect spot for outdoor dining furniture. If you love enjoying the fall weather like we do, then you will really like the propane fireplace and fire pit. Just imagine enjoying warming yourself by the fire on a beautiful dark night with the protective buffer of forest surrounding the house.
Filling a pool with water can be an expensive proposition when using city water, however, the water is free when you have a 450 deep well that produces 22 gallons per minute like the one at Sandy Creek Sanctuary. Not only is there a tremendous amount of water, but it is also high quality, soft water with a static water level 160 feet below ground surface. A pool and a water well are great but who doesn’t also want a nice one acre stocked bass pond. Constructed with fishing in mind and stocked with large bass caught by the owner, this dock is the ideal spot to end the day with a few casts as the sunlight is fading and night settles in.
The 30ft by 65ft offers the ideal mixture of a small living area, climate-controlled work room, workshop, and spot to store your ATVs, mowers, and boats. This multi-use building can serve all sorts of needs that you might have in the future.
If the property is sounding nice so far, there is one more thing that we need to mention: deer hunting. Sandy Creek runs through the eastern portion of the property. The elevation rises 70 feet from the creek back to the home and in between most of the property is covered with mature pecans, walnuts, and oaks. There are a few transitional open areas that offer a variety of browse and open areas as well as three small meadows each about 1 ½ acres in size that would be ideal for food plots. In addition, a very pleasant strip has been cleared of small trees/scrub to create a savanna area along Sandy Creek. The remaining pecan trees in this area give it a great look and one can just imagine whitetails filtering out of the thicker growth into the opening on a fall day.
