What is a Distribution Line?

Before diving into the benefits of our new feature, it’s important to understand what distribution lines are. Distribution lines are the lower voltage electric lines that carry electricity from local substations to homes and businesses, making them crucial for everyday power needs. They differ from transmission lines, which are the high voltage lines that transport electricity over long distances from power plants to substations. By displaying distribution lines on our maps, AcreValue helps you see the immediate availability of electric power for your property, whereas transmission lines would indicate broader regional connectivity.

Why Distribution Lines Matter

Whether you’re planning a new building, expanding your farm, or looking to develop renewable energy projects, this feature will provide the critical information you need to make informed decisions. For developers, knowing where the power lines are can simplify planning for new housing projects or commercial buildings. Landowners can highlight their property’s access to electricity when selling, making it more attractive to buyers. And for our agricultural users, this can mean easier expansion planning, ensuring you have the power needed for irrigation systems and other operations. Renewable energy developers will especially benefit by easily identifying properties that can be connected to the grid efficiently.

Simplifying Our User's Workflows

We designed this feature with your needs in mind, making it easier to save time and reduce uncertainty in your projects. So, dive into the map, turn on the "Distribution Lines" layer, and explore how this new dataset can help you with your land projects. Thanks for being part of the AcreValue community – we’re excited to support your land adventures with the best tools and data!
